Microteaching Reflection 4

I'm sorry for posting late. my older modem had broken and my new one gives me another trouble.

When I saw my friends performing their 'teaching practice' I am really nervous. Nervous because I just afraid if I do something stupid. >< but I will give my best today. I love observing their performance. I noticed that everyone has unique style of teaching and I learned to adapt their idea when they were teaching.

well, I guess that is all. I do enjoy this class ^^

CBLL : Lesson Plan for Writing Class

Writing class

Setting:
The internet connection is good and each student has been familiar in using and exploring the internet including blogs. The school also provides enough computers for each student to experience Internet.

General Information:
1. The students will have to create a blog in a specific web. They will have the same place/web to create blog, so it will be easier for teacher and the other students to give comments and check.

2. The blog will be used for daily assignments or tasks. The students will also need to give comments on others' works. Teacher will give some topics and the students will write their opinions or experiences in their blog. They will have deadline to post their tasks and also minimal requirements for every tasks. The teacher will give feedback by giving comments or verbal feedback on their class time.

3. In this class, there might not be a quiz or midterm test. The progress of their writing will be counted as the midterm test. For the final test, there might be a final project.

Lesson Plan:

1. The material would be about some genres of texts : Narrative, Recount, Descriptive, and Argumentative.
2. Each week, they might have the same genre but with different topics.
3. The teacher will still lecture to give explanations on the tasks, generic structure, some problems occurred during the class activities, etc.
4. The feedback / comments will be more on the grammar, and the generic structure. (since this is a writing class)
5. The major activities in this class is to produce some texts in various genres. They will also discuss some issues in the Teacher's blog. So it is a open discussion.
6. The mark will based on their activeness, and their writing productions (grammars, etc).

Reflection MicroTeaching 3

  1. I joined this class, of course because this is a requirement for my graduation. I did not have any idea until I started the class. Now I think I joined the class because I need more tricks, knowledge and practices to handle my future classes.
  2. Firstly I will say I don’t know, but know I say I want this class, no I NEED this class to be a better teacher. I just see myself as a very incompetence teacher-wanna-be. So I really need to learn lots of things, don’t I?
  3. Positive things? I get lots of thing. I had practiced some of the tricks I learned from this class in my daily tutoring. I found out that it is very effective to make our students understand why they learn these materials. I had done it and I surprised with their reactions in doing the exercises. They are willing to do it, and also they give some comments about the importance about the lessons/materials. I was very glad to know that the tricks or knowledge I learned are worked in real field!! ^^
Negative things? It is an afternoon class and after and before this class I always have to work. It’s tiring for me to have this afternoon class and Sir, please the room is sometimes TOO COLD!! T^T I cannot stop sneezing when I got home.T^T

Reflection 2

Learning about teaching is somehow scary for me because I was a naughty student for some teacher in my past. When I was in senior-high, I loved teasing the PLL teachers and a new teacher until one of them cried after the class and my new teacher did not teach us for almost 2 weeks. I just feel guilty for doing such bad actions in my past. However, I also learned that it is not easy to be a good teacher. Our students are smarter than us; they are growing in the hi-tech era, an era where they also learn to do what they like because they are facilitated. I feel challenged to teach, especially children. They are so moody and very easily get bored. They are very honest in the other hand. When the exercises I gave to them are boring, they will directly show it, uninterested. They are a good motivator, though. Seeing their faces seriously do the exercises make me happy. Well, I don’t dream to be a teacher or to be in this way but now, I just love it. Teaching is fun, I learn and they also learn. ^^
